In a recent episode, we talked about ways to consistently capture the commitments we make so we don’t drop the ball on them.

But what about the times when just remembering to write them down isn’t enough? It’s not uncommon for those of us with ADHD to find ourselves chronically overcommitted and utterly buried.

This is because we struggle to deal in reality where projects, tasks, and even basic daily life is concerned.

We misjudge the amount of time required for tasks, we don’t take into account the unknowns and unforeseen events that will affect our ability to get things accomplished, and we often can’t predict when we’ll have the motivation and the mental wherewithal to complete certain tasks.

In short: ADHD is at war with reality.

In this episode, we not only talk about the underlying causes for our difficulties being realistic, but we also share some very current struggles that you might just be able to relate to. (Hint: did you find yourself wondering why this podcast suddenly has “seasons?”)

And, as always, we (and by “we” we mean “Dana”) share some really practical ways to make our lives easier by dealing more with reality… and that’s good for our families, loved ones, friends, and co-workers, too!
