In Part 1, we talked about the 3 types of focus that Dana has identified: searchlight, spotlight, and laser. We also talked about the reasons why laser focus may not actually be what you want to cultivate as someone with ADHD.
In this week’s episode, we talk about specific ways you can cultivate searchlight focus, including becoming aware of what uniquely motivates you to focus and also what your personal distractions from focus are. You’ll also learn some of the most effective focusing tricks for adults with ADHD.
What kicks your focus into high gear? What’s your swamp? Head over to the comments section for this episode and let us know! We look forward to hearing from you!
Hi Dana, I am so blessed by finding your podcast. Since hyperfocus was actually the reason why I considered being ADHD some 20 years ago, I am very glad for your information about searchlight, spotlight, and laser focus. Hyperfocus was my only way of coping with the ADHD I was not even aware of. Now I want to learn to focus on focusing to avoid the brain fatigue I so often experienced. Thanks a lot
